Many martial arts masters were born in Binh Dinh and then moved to live abroad. But they always devote themselves to Vietnamese martial arts and play a key role in introducing Binh Dinh martial arts abroad.

Master Ho Buu was born in Tay Son District. He has begun to teach martial arts since 1963. He has never stopped teaching Binh Dinh martial arts regardless of living in Vietnam or abroad.

When being invited to participate in any events held in Vietnam, we are ready to join all activities. Each event can be considered as a chance to promote Vietnamese traditional martial arts, Buu said when coming to Binh Dinh to join the international festival of Vietnamese traditional martial arts.

Master Diep Le Bich, living in England now, lived in An Thai village, An Nhon District. She is now using IT application to introduce martial arts. “In the age of information technology, we have to take full advantage of means of communication to spread Vietnamese traditional martial arts,” she said.

Being born in Quy Nhon, Master Tran Hoai flocked nationwide to learn traditional martial arts. When moving to live in the US, he opened a school of martial arts attracting 40-50 people. “Foreigners learn martial arts with great enthusiasm,” Hoai said. He teaches not only martial arts but Oriental culture, helping them understand the origin of traditional martial arts.

Most of them said that the spread of Binh Dinh martial arts abroad faced many difficulties. Vietnamese people in the US live in different areas. It’s, therfore, hard to teach them all. Many don’t understand the importance of traditional preservation.

However, the young generation is very enthusiastic about traditional martial arts. Natives are very fond of practicing martial arts. To attract more people, it needs a connection among schools of martial arts abroad and in Vietnam.

The organisation of traditional martial arts festivals is really necessary. This is an opportunity for learners of martial arts to know more about the origin of traditional martial arts, contributing to promote Binh Dinh martial arts.

At present, Taekwon-do, Karatedo, and others are strongly developing and they are systematically organized. Therefore, the establishment of the international federation of Vietnamese traditional martial arts is necessary. It will help Binh Dinh martial arts as well as Vietnamese martial arts to compete against others, said Master Tran Hoai.

Binh Dinh’s masters must become brothers, helping each other to widely introduce Binh Dinh martial arts, Master Bich said.
