One day at Quang Trung Museum
16:59', 5/7/ 2009 (GMT+7)

We came to Quang Trung Museum in Tay Son District on a day as other days. A day without any events.

Tourists come to the museum everyday

Coming to the museum at 7.30 am in a morning in June, I spent VND8,500 buying a ticket to visit the museum. There were not any leaflets giving information on the museum and its services.

When I came there at 7.30, there were already 30 visitors, including families. At 9, more 100 tourists from HCM city joined us to visit the museum.

The figure proved that Quang Trung Museum as well as tourism sites in Binh Dinh are still attractive.

Listen to tourists

Phan Chau, a tourist from Lam Dong province, said he has visited Quang Trung Museum for three times and always seen a new thing in each visit.

“However, I felt as if I had visited an eco-tourism site with old shrines,” he emphasized. “I think the shrine should be built to make tourists feel they are visiting the national hero’s birthplace.”

He and some his friends played as guides to help their children who had studies abroad for a long time visit Vietnam’s destinations, including Binh Dinh and Quang Trung Museum.

He hoped the tour would teach their children Vietnam’s history to some extent, but it seemed that he was disappointed. “The museum’s guide used so much local dialect and she spoke fast, making us feel difficult to understand,” Chau complained.

Tourists from Ha Noi, Lam Dong were really interested in martial arts music and performances of martial arts and cong (Gong).

The performances were really impressive, they said. But there were still some shortcomings. The same group of artists, for example, performed all.

What’s more, there were no interaction between the MC and the audience. The MC only introduced the names of shows.

Henry, an English tourist, complained that souvenir shops lack unique products and its display is not attractive.

Many books on Binh Dinh were kept in the shop windows, so they couldn’t have a quick look at them before deciding to buy them.

These shortcomings are expected to no longer exist in the future, helping tourists fully enjoy their tour at Quang Trung Museum.
