Xuan Dieu commemorative house be upgraded
15:34', 19/7/ 2009 (GMT+7)

The poets Huu Thinh and Nguyen Khoa Diem burn incense at the Xuan Dieu commemorative house

Xuan Dieu commemorative house was built in Tuy Phuoc district in 1996, aiming to show the province’s great respect for his work.

The commemorative house was built on an area of 500 sq.m with three rooms, exhibiting many items and documents relating to the poet.

Many admirers visiting the commemorative house expressed their thoughts on the poet by writing in a notebook placed in the house.

More than VND130 million was invested in building the Xuan Dieu commemorative house and it was then upgraded with nearly VND90 million in 2006.

However, that is not enough for such a famous poet because it hasn’t been in full operation.

At present, its precinct is really small and the front of the house is almost blocked by surrounding houses. Also, there are not many items showcased in the house.

The commemorative house hasn’t been opened frequently for no one is assigned to stay there permanently. Visitors, therefore, who want to visit the house must contact the authority in advance.

“The district People’s Committee is compiling necessary documents to submit to the province’s functional bodies as the foundation to ask Binh Dinh People’s Committee to recognize the Xuan Dieu commemorative house as the cultural-historical relic,” said Vo Tuan Khanh, head of Tuy Phuoc’s Office of Culture and Information.

The Xuan Dieu commemorative house should be extended. What’s more, the whole province needs to focus on the house, helping it become a more attractive destination in tourists’ eyes.
