The martial arts music has been widely introduced.

The Copyright Department under Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has issued the certificate of copyright registration for martial arts music. The development of martial arts music, therefore, needs focusing on.

There are now five artists specializing in martial arts music in Binh Dinh, including Nguyen Thi Thuan and Hoang Mai (Quang Trung Museum), Trieu Dan and Ba Dung (Dao Tan Tuong Theatre), and Dinh Van Nhan (Binh Dinh Bai Choi Troupe).

The martial arts music has become well known thanks to tour operators. Those who visited Quang Trung Museum, thus, wanted to enjoy the performance of martial arts music.

“We still need one or two people who could perform martial arts music,” said Nguyen Xuan Ho, head of martial arts music group. “Ninth or tenth graders could the best selection for they will be able to perform well after graduating from high schools.

They would be trained at the museum because there is now no class for martial arts music, he added. They should also know some techniques to make their performance more attractive.

The artist Trieu Dang said he was invited to teach a girl called My Nu in 1984, aiming to help her perform at festivals.

At present, he is teaching two students. They have known some basic techniques, but they still need much patience and show much enthusiasm for martial arts music.

Often, the martial arts music is taught orally and requires much practice. When mastering all techniques, an artist could perform well with his emotion.

Dang also said his students showed their love for drums, but it was a pity that the course will end by August 15 and he didn’t know if it will be continued.
