The performances of Vietnamese martial arts schools are scheduled to begin on October 5 at the Ha Noi-based Quan Ngua sports palace. Many martial arts troupes at home and abroad will join the 3-day event.
17 members of Binh Dinh’s squad will join 8 performances, including Roi hac danh o so (performed by Mai Thanh Tuan), Quyen nap ma mon cuong (by Vo Thi Anh Nguyet), Song phuong kiem, Loi phong tuy hinh kiem (by 5 female practitioners), Loi long dao (by 8 male practitioners), and U linh thuong (by 14 practitioners).
All participants are very eager to perform at the event. “Although I’ve performed at many contests and programmes at home and abroad, this is one of the biggest events I’ve joined,” said Mai Thanh Tuan. “I will, thus, try to practice hard for the performance.”
Unfortunately, some martial arts practitioners who are students have to start their new school year; therefore, they missed this opportunity. “The new school year has begun while I’m a freshman, so I have to focus on my studying,” said the martial arts practitioner Pham Dinh Khiem. “I regret missing this chance.”
The martial arts master Tran Duy Linh said, “All of Binh Dinh’s martial arts practitioners joining the upcoming performance in Ha Noi have experiences in performing at big events; hence, we do believe they would finish their tasks well.”
“We still, however, asked them to practice seriously for the best performances,” he added. “They had joined the dress rehearsal day and night one week earlier.”
“Without pressure, the martial arts practitioners are expected to show the quintessence of traditional martial arts, bringing fame to the land of martial arts,” Linh said.
