Another cannon found in Binh Dinh

Workers of a river dredging company found one more cannon in the Thi Nai lagoon on October 4. It is the fourth one found in the past four days.

The cannon cast in bronze has the length of 2.7 meter and its barrel diameter is 0.24 meter. “We also found some pieces from the body of a ship,” said Nguyen Minh Trung, one of the workers.

These cannons made under the Tay Son dynasty is believed to be sunk during a fight between the Nguyen army and Tay Son troops in 1801, according to Director of Binh Dinh Museum, Dinh Ba Hoa.

Four cannons are expected to be displayed at the museum in the coming time.
