Plan in response to National Tourism Year 2011: South Central Coast – Phu Yen approved

Binh Dinh People’s Committee has just approved a plan of activities in response to the National Tourism Year 2011 which would be hosted by southern central province of Phu Yen and other southern central coastal provinces. Binh Dinh Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism would cooperate with the Department for Art Performance (the Ministry of Culture and Information) in organizing a national festival of folk songs and bai choi (singing while playing cards) at Quy Nhon city on March 21, 2011. The provincial Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism would also directed its inferiors to draw out plans of participating in main events at the province of Phu Yen, including: an  international mountain climbing tournament to conquer Da Bia Mount in March 2011, a carnival with theme “Paradise tours to the Sea and Islands” in April 2011, a national tournament of beach football and a national Vovinam championship in June 2011, a culture-sport-tourism festival of Vietnam ethnic groups in the central and highland provinces, a contest of Miss Tourism in the southern central coastal provinces and a food festival with typical foods from northern, central and southern provinces in July 2011.
