The third international festival of Vietnamese traditional martial arts taking place in the central province of Binh Dinh from August 1-8 is one of important events celebrating the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Ha Noi.

The festival is expected to attract 750 martial arts practitioners coming from 30 countries and territories. The participants will join different contests, such as performing competition, bare-handed fighting, and competitions with weapons.

There will be different sideline activities, aimed to help visitors know more about Binh Dinh, the hometown of the national hero Quang Trung.

At present, provincial bodies are urgently finishing the preparations for the festival. In a meeting with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, provincial Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh emphasized that organizing the third international festival of Vietnamese traditional martial arts is an honour for the whole province.

The province’s functional bodies have carefully prepared for the event in the past few months, aiming to make it imposing. Relevant bodies were asked to create the most favourable conditions for the organisation of the festival.

Students from universities and colleges located in Binh Dinh and professional artists will be mobilized to join the art performances showed at the opening and closing ceremonies. Also, businesses, organizations, and individuals in the province are ready to sponsor the event.

This year’s festival is expected to be an opportunity for martial arts practitioners to exchange their experiences of Vietnamese martial arts and visit attractive destinations in the central province of Binh Dinh.
