22-member Binh Dinh traditional martial arts squad arrived in Hue City yesterday (Jun.1) to prepare for their martial arts performances at the 2010 Hue Festival, which is scheduled to kick off on June 5.

The Binh Dinh martial arts athletes will perform a 10-minute fighting practice of fighters as part of the restoring artistic scene “The naval warriors in the time of the Nguyen Lords on maneuvers”, which will take place in the evening of June 7.

The performance directed by martial arts Master Tran Duy Linh includes fighting techniques with lances, fighting of three battlers with weapons, fighting of four competitors with weapons, fighting of three barehanded people against attackers with weapons and shield rolling.

In the evening of June 10, the martial arts team will participate in the scene “Nguyen Hue Emperor defeated the Qing invaders”- part of the stage performance “The expansion of the national territory” at the Pavilion of Edicts (Phu Van Lau).

Alongside these, the Dao Tan Tuong (classical drama) Theatre and Tay Son martial arts music troupe will also demonstrate some performances at the festival.
