257th anniversary of Emperor Quang Trung’s birthday celebrated

Leaders of Binh Dinh Province and Tay Son district were offering flowers at Emperor Quang Trung’s statue.

The 257th anniversary of Emperor Quang Trung’s birthday (1753-2010) was held at Quang Trung Museum in Phu Phong town, Tay Son district yesterday (June 16).

The event saw the present of representatives of Binh Dinh Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, of Tay Son district, local residents, and tourists.

In his opening speech, Director of Quang Trung Museum Chau Kinh Tu reviewed biographies and cause of the plain-clothes hero Quang Trung-Nguyen Hue. A flower offering ceremony at Emperor Quang Trung’s statue and Tay Son Temple dedicating to the three Tay Son heroes was followed then to commemorate and pay respect to Emperor Quang Trung, the preeminent national hero who brought fame to Binh Dinh and won many glorious victories in the honorable national history against invaders.
