The festival held in the homeland of the hero Quang Trung is part of the activities celebrating the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long- Hanoi.

Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Binh Dinh People’s Committee jointly held a press conference in Ha Noi on July 27, announcing the 3rd international festival of Vietnam traditional martial arts taking place in Binh Dinh from August 1-4.

So far, nearly 90 foreign and local martial arts troupes with around 1,000 instructors and practitioners from 30 countries and territories have registered for the upcoming event.

The festival is one of the 2010’s key programs celebrating the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long – Ha Noi, aiming to honour and preserve the traditional cultural value. In addition, it is also an opportunity to introduce international friends to Viet Nam as well as Binh Dinh- the land of long-standing martial arts spirit and the homeland of the plain-clothes hero Quang Trung

This is a good chance for foreign and Vietnamese martial arts practitioners to study and exchange their experiences of Vietnamese traditional martial arts and learn more about Binh Dinh.

Throughout the thousand years of building and defending the country, Vietnamese traditional martial arts has really become a national cultural heritage.
