70 martial arts squads coming from 35 countries and territories and 34 domestic ones have brought a jubilant atmosphere to the 4-day event.

Some selected performances featuring the quintessence of traditional martial arts had a chance to be showed at the closing ceremony.

Together with the music of martial arts, the Tay Son flag waving art was also performed, showing the strength of the Tay Son invincible insurgent army headed by the national hero Nguyen Hue.

The Tay Son war drum performance, a Vietnam’s intangible cultural heritage, which was showed under the Tay Son dynasty in the 18th century, ended the ceremony.

The artists joining the performance showed their skills with a set of 12 drums once used by the Emperor Quang Trung and his mandarins in special events. This is aimed to call on the solidarity and unification for the preservation of Vietnamese traditional martial arts in Vietnam and abroad.

The closing ceremony also saw the “Miss Martial Arts” contest, aiming to honor the beauty of female martial arts practitioners.

Among 25 contestants, including 16 Vietnamese and 9 foreigners, the contestant Tran Thi To Van coming from the Binh Dinh College was crowned as Miss Martial Arts.
