Beauty of female martial arts practitioners
14:20', 10/8/ 2010 (GMT+7)

They are martial arts instructors and practitioners who often use martial art clubs, sporting halls, gymnasiums as their daily “stage”, but they also had another stage where their beauty and martial arts techniques were honored at the 3rd international festival of Vietnamese traditional martial arts they performed.

Wearing ao dai – the national dress of Vietnam – to perform was an unforgettable experience for foreign candidates.

“My father is a Vietnamese, my mother is French. I have been practicing martial arts for 15 years and this is first time I’ve participated in the international festival of Vietnamese traditional martial arts. I felt confident when wearing ao dai and holding a conical hat in my hand,” said Tran Nhat Mai who has a French beauty but a Vietnamese name.

“This contest truly brought us pleasure and surprise,” said another contestant, Silva Angelique. “We will certainly never forget this contest."

“Hélène Tran looks serious but mysterious and attractive,” Cao Thi Thanh Mai, a Binh Dinh contestant talked about Vietnamese-born French Hélène Tran, a Cuu Long Vo Dao follower.

“Cécile Prate coming from French or Isabel Reboh coming from Switzerland is the same. Being participated in this contest and met “female martial arts practitioners” from different countries was an unforgettable experience in my life,” she added.

Many are afraid of losing their femininity when practicing martial arts, but I think that’s not true as they will be more attractive if they practice martial arts systematically, according to Tran Thi To Van, a member of Bin Dinah team.

The result of “Miss Martial Arts” contest

Contestant Tran Thi To Van coming from the Binh Dinh College was crowned as Miss Martial Arts.

Contestants Duong Thi Thanh Hue coming from Quy Nhon City and Valeriya Ryabova of Russia’s Tinh Vo Dao squad were two runners-up.

Two consolation prizes belonged to contestant Hélène Tran from French Cuu Long Vo Dao squad and Golliard Jessalynn from Swiss Son Long Quyen martial arts squad.
