Different from other photo exhibitions that used to be displayed in a narrow space, the southern central and Central Highlands photo exhibition taking place in Quy Nhon City helped viewers enjoy works of art in a green garden with cool breeze and sound of waves.

The exhibition was held on the grass beside the Quy Nhon city’s Victory Square, an open and romantic space located between Xuan Dieu and Nguyen Hue streets. This was also a crowded area where many tourists often pass by.

“The new arrangement of this exhibition was a landmark bringing art to people. It is a significant activity celebrating the 3rd international festival of Vietnamese traditional martial arts and contributing to introduce the country’s people and culture,” said Dinh Khac Dien, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

With the new arrangement, each photo was displayed on a decorated easel and arranged on parterres under the shade of areca trees. The beautiful arrangement combined with the colored light system created a sparking garden at night, attracting many viewers.

“This is the first time I’ve enjoyed such an exhibition with beautiful space and display. Many works are very nice and exciting,” said Thuy Huong, a student of Quy Nhon University.

“The initiative for the publication of the CD-ROM introducing 333 high quality works of 63 members of 63 regional VAPA members is a breakthrough. It was more significant that more than 100 photos were selected for the first exhibition organized in Binh Dinh and other provinces and cities later,” said photographer Pham Van Ty.

The impression of this exhibition was diversified artistic creativeness and humane feature of some photographers. The effects of camera angles in the photo Len nuong by photographer Vo Van Cay made viewers moved when showing ethnic minority people passing through a temporary suspension bridge made by dry woods and hung in mid-air.

The work Hanh phuc (Happiness) by photographer My Dung also attracted more attention with a harmonious and significant two-in-one photo featuring a blind couple in wedding ceremony besides two graves lying in parallel. It liked an oath that only death could separate them.

With different ways of expression, the work “Save” by photographer Pham Duc brought a warning message to our devastating environmental disaster through frightened and anxious face of ethnic minority sisters.

The work “Wait” by photographer Thai Bich Thuan showed a simple image of couple bamboo frames standing next to a white wall and closed old wooden door creating a “calm-but-move” picture that evokes many thoughts from the viewers.

The members of VAPA affiliate in Binh Dinh also manifested their own creativeness through some high quality works such as “Playing together” by photographer Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, “Catching gayal No.3” by photographer Dao Tien Dat, and “Catching fish under rain” by Ngo Thanh Binh. A set of 20 photos showing activities of the 1st and 2nd international festival of Vietnamese traditional martial arts was also exhibited here.

The exhibition was a gift sent to the participants of the 3rd international festival of Vietnamese traditional martial arts.
