Canh Tien tower

The second archaeological excavation of Mam tower is another success in exploring the heritage value of Cham towers in An Nhon district. However, it still requires “more ideas” to uphold the value of the towers.

Binh Dinh sees Cham towers located all over the province. An Nhon district has three towers which are about several kilometers far from each other, including Canh Tien (fairy wing) tower, Mam tower, and Phu Loc tower.

Canh Tien and Phu Loc were recognized as the relics of national magnitude while Mam tower shows it is a spectacular architectural complex after the second excavation.

The local functional body needs to cooperate with Vietnam History Museum to study the special value of the Mam tower, according to Nguyen Huu Toan, an official of Cultural Heritage Agency.

It’s necessary to “link” these three towers, forming a separate tour to help visitors enjoy the unique features of Binh Dinh Cham towers. The first destination is the Mam tower which is expected to help tourists know more about “Binh Dinh taste”. They then visit Phu Loc tower located on a hill which is 80 meter high above the sea level. Canh Tien tower should be the final destination, allowing tourists to see the beauty and the difference of Cham towers.

The tour could be combined with the visit of other relics and craft villages in neighboring areas. While visiting Mam and Phu Loc towers, for example, tourists are also able to visit craft villages. Coming to Canh Tien tower, tourists will enjoy the Emperor Citadel nearby.
