“The culinary festival is held at Ghenh Rang tourist site, aiming to attract more visitors to the destination,” said vice director of Binh Dinh Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Nguyen Thanh Son. “Visitors coming here will have a chance to enjoy different cuisine in Binh Dinh as well as other regions in Vietnam.”

Some typical specialties of three regions will also be displayed at the festival, such as bun cha (round rice noodles with grilled pork), bun bo Hue (Hue beef noodle soup), and other delicious dishes.

Also, the visitors will be able to enjoy Binh Dinh’s distinctive dishes, including banh hoi, banh xeo, and the performance of the making of bun cha ca (rice vermicelli with fried fish).

Alongside various cuisine, bai choi (a performance-slash-game in which participants bet on the missing words of poems or folksongs) will also be involved in the event. To prepare for the game, 9 small stalls were built at the folk games area in Ghenh Rang tourist site. Many local people and tourists are expected to join the interesting game which originated in Binh Dinh.

Bai choi was successfully held at the Cho Go (Go market) festival in Tuy Phuoc during the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival,” said Dao Minh Tam, director of provincial Culture Centre. “This time’s game will be traditionally held with the participation of many senior artists.”

“Although the company has experiences in organizing such cuisine events in Ghenh Rang, our staff will still prepare for the festival carefully as it is a big event,” said Hoang Le Phuong, an official of Sai Gon – Quy Nhon Tourism JSC. “The company’s chefs will serve all visitors with reasonable prices.”

The first Vietnam forest product festival is coming and other supporting programs have also taken place. The culinary festival is expected to make the province more exciting.
