The national festival of bai choi (a performance-slash-game in which participants bet on the missing words of poems or folksongs) opened yesterday (Apr. 5) in Quy Nhon.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Le Tien Tho, emphasized the festival will be a driving force for bai choi artists to preserve and develop the art of bai choi.

Provincial Vice Chairman Ho Quoc Dung extended greetings to the festival, hoping that the event will be successful.

At the opening ceremony, the local artists performed an extract of a bai choi play and another ancient play.

The festival will last until April 8 with many performances.
