A charity group held a cultural exchange at a Quy Nhon-based café on July 29. Four of eight collections of poem were introduced at the event.

Four collections of poems were introduced at the event.

The charity group has carried out different charitable programs in Binh Dinh for many years, helping disabled and poor students continue their studying.

The last night’s event was not an exception. Money collected from the purchase of the collections of books will be donated to the Pham Truong Tan Fund, aiming to present scholarships to disadvantaged students in Binh Dinh.

Before the “Selling books for scholarships” program was carried out, the group had also planned an aid program. Accordingly, the Fund will finance 68 students in provinces of Binh Dinh, Quang Nam, and Nghe An as well as support 5 students joining the entrance exam in the 2011-2012 academic year.

In addition, four outstanding students will be awarded in the same year. The total expenses for the scholarships is about US$8,000.

The group previously held a “Selling poems for scholarship” program in August of 2010. This year’s event was organized on a larger scale, but its main purpose is still to help the unfortunate.
