2 Binh Dinh-born people short-listed to 2011 Vietnam’s prizes and titles for artists

Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism has just announced its 2011 short-list of prizes and honourable titles for artists in realms of literatures, drama, music, folklore and dancing in the second round. 2 Binh Dinh – born people are included in the shortlist.

In the field of drama, researcher Vu Ngoc Lien won nearly absolute support from an 11-member ministerial council of drama examiners with 10 “ayes”. Vu Ngoc Lien is author of 2 studies, namely “(cultural celebrity) Dao Tan bibliographies” (3 volumes, including “Dao Tan – poetry and letters”, “Dao Tan – classical theatre” and “Dao Tan – bibliographies”) and “A collection of anecdotes”.

In the field of music, musician Nguyen Van Hien, who lives now in Ho Chi Minh City, got 9 “aye” votes from a 12-member ministerial council of music examiners. Hien is composer of 6 songs: “Walk uphill in an early spring evening”, “Old days of being a child”, “Hey, river! Where do you run through?”, “Da Lat in my heart”, “Highlands in green season” and “I dare not”.

The shortlist will be handed in State-level Council for consideration of the prize and title granting in 2011.
