At the moment, people living at the leper camp in Ghenh Rang ward has prepared for Mid-Autumn festival. According to Tran Duy Nghia, an official at the village, the event is expected to be more impressive as there are many donors.
As planned, 202 children at the village will be presented with gifts. Some older children are practising the lion dances and other kids are practising some Mid-Autumn songs for the upcoming event.
BIC insurance company and Royal resort coordinated to organize a program for children on September 10, presenting gifts to all of them and performing lion dances at each house at the village.
The Hy Vong Quy Nhon Specialized School also saw the busy atmosphere in preparing for the Mid-Autumn festival. Its headmaster Tran Gia Tin said the event would be “very impressive”. Alongside children studying at the school, 52 disadvantaged kids in Quy Nhon will be offered gifts. They will also have a chance to enjoy different activities, such as dancing, fashion and martial arts performance and art performances.
As for underprivileged children who seldom enjoy a Mid-Autumn festival, they will have chances to join their festival at some social centres where they are living.
Many children living at Dong Tam centre, Binh Dinh Social Sponsoring Centre will also enjoy a full-moon festival happily. 28 kids living at Quy Nhon SOS children’s village will have their own festival for the first time.
Binh Dinh Department of Labor, War Invalid, and Social Welfare formally asked all localities to organize festivals for children on this occasion, according to Nguyen Thi Phuong, head of Office for Child Protection.
Nearly VND300 million and over 1,500 gift were mobilized to present to poor children in Binh Dinh. More than 200 children who are under treatment at Binh Dinh General Hospital and Quy Nhon General Hospital will receive gifts from provincial leaders.
“We are trying to mobilize all possible sources to organize a perfect full-moon festival for children,” said Phuong.
