More than 700 martial arts practitioners are expected to join the 4th martial arts festival in Binh Dinh

The 4th international festival of Vietnamese traditional martial arts is expected to take place in less than one month. Vice director of Binh Dinh Culture, Sport and Tourism Department Dinh Khac Dien talks more about the preparation for the event.

What makes this year’s festival different from previous events?

This year’s festival still focuses on honoring and preserving traditional values as well as propagating the province’s image worldwide. Also, this is an opportunity for domestic and international martial arts teams to exchange their views on Vietnamese traditional martial arts and know more about the socio-economic situation of “the land of martial arts”.

The event is expected to attract tourists through various activities, contributing to the development of Binh Dinh tourism. There will be some new programs, such as new destinations for martial arts performances, street festival, cuisine activity, and other art programs.

Alongside these, in the upcoming event, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism authorized Vietnam’s Traditional Martial Arts Federation and the Department to establish the founding board of Vietnam’s Traditional Martial Arts Federation.

Could you reveal more about the opening and closing ceremonies?

The opening ceremony will gather more than 1,500 martial arts practitioners, artists, and students. They will perform many new and unique programs. The ceremony is comprised of three main episodes and there will be a firework display at the end of the ceremony.

The closing ceremony will be held solemnly, focusing on honoring those who have excellent performances during the festival. The ceremony will also see the final round of Martial Arts Beauty Contest.

How about the propagation for the festival?

Together with invitations sent to domestic and foreign delegations, the organizing board has been carrying out the propagation activities nationwide and abroad. We are going to hold press conferences in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City to introduce about the event. Another press conference is expected to take place in Binh Dinh later.

Some of the festival’s main programs will be live broadcast, such as opening ceremony on August 1, street festival on August 2, and closing ceremony on August 3.
