1. Project name: Coconut-based Product Processing Plant

2. Project objective:

To set up coconut - based processing establishments with a total capacity of 10 - 20 million nuts/ year.

Line of products: Dried, scraped coconut milk, activated carbon, coconut fiber/thread, canned coconut juice, well-extracted oil, coconut butter and ice-cream, cosmetics, coconut timber, plywood from coconut dust, etc.

Development orientation: 110,000 tons of coconuts/year by 2005 and 140,000 tons of coconuts/year by 2010.

The outskirts of QuyNhonCity;

Hoai Nhon District, Phu My District.

4. Market:

Export and domestic consumption.

5. Form of investment:

100% foreign owned capital or joint-venture

6. Estimated project scale:

USD 2 - 5 million.

7. Inputs (raw materials and Intermediate products):

Binh Dinh has more than 13,000 ha of coconut plantation, concentrated in the Districts of Hoai Nhon, Phu My and Phu Cat with a total yield of about 70 million coconuts/year. In addition, the neighbouring provinces such as Phu Yen, Quang Ngai have about 10,000 - 13,000 ha of coconut plantation.

8. Energy and Utilities:

Telecommunication, power, water supply and other infrastructure   facilities are  adequate.
