1. Project name:BuildingOcean Tuna Line - Fishing Boats with Synchronized Equipment

2. Project objective:

Building 30 ocean tuna line fishing boats specialized for catching tuna with synchronized equipment with a power of 150 - 600 HP per unit.

3. Project location:

QuyNhonCity and Hoai Nhon, Phu Cat, Phu My District.

4. Market:

Domestic consumption and partially for export.

5. Form of investment:

100% foreign owned capital or joint-venture

6. Background:

The sea of Vietnam is located in fishing ground abundant of ocean tuna - the highly valued fish. The consumption of ocean tuna is ever-increasing in the domestic and world market.

At present, the province has about 420 line-fishing boats (from 60 - 174 HP each) specialized for catching ocean tuna (target of 2010: there will be 800 vessels). The average catch of each fishing trip is 1 to 1.2 tons per boat. The total catch of 2002: 2,100 tons, of 2003: 2,600 tons (2010: 12,000 tons).

7. Energy and Utilities:

Telecommunication, power and water supply and other infrastructure   facilities are  adequate.
