1. Project name: Hi - Tech Shrimp Farming in Sandy and Salted Areas

2. Project objective:

Establishing the high-tech shrimp farming area in coastal sandy and salinized areas.

Producing the true-to-type breeder shrimp and cultivating the new breeder shrimp with higher economic value.

Technical training is provided for shrimp farmers.

Building up the shrimp-feed factory.

3. Project location:

Phu My, Hoai Nhon, Tuy Phuoc, Phu Cat District and QuyNhonCity.

4. Market:

Shrimps processing for export and domestic consumption.

5. Form of investment:

100% foreign owned capital or joint-venture

6. Estimated project scale:

As per the project scale.

7. Inputs (raw materials and Intermediate products):

There exists in the province a total of 7,600 hectares of brackish water surfaces and thousands of hectares of salinized agricultural land, more than 1,000 hectares of sandy land, most of which are to be converted into aqua-farm; and 5,176 hectares of natural fresh water surface.

Currently, the area for aquatic cultivation is more than 4,500 hectares, of which 2,500 hectares have been utilized for shrimp farming. The shrimp area of 5,000 ha is projected by 2005.

8. Energy and Utilities:

Telecommunication, power and water supply and other infrastructure   facilities are  adequate.
