If there weren’t Internet in this word…
What a crazy person to imagine such a silly thing and wish it to be true! But I myself want that happen after a quarrel with a friend of mine because of Internet problems. Speed of broadband is too slow; computer of one of the Internet users is attacked by viruses. There are technical errors on the Internet. All of them may cause discontinuity of online conversation, leading to misunderstanding, quarrels and then …a “cold war”.
I turned off my computer, promising with myself not to be online the whole day today any more. Yes. If there is no Internet, my life will be different. There will be no strong desire to check email account or access Yahoo Messenger to see if there is any message. There will be no eagerness to save some minutes (sometimes hours) surfing web to see whether any thing changes after one sleeping night. It sounds like a sudden holiday that you haven’t taken for long time.
I will save more time listening to a music CD-Rom and looking after my family. I haven’t ridden slowly along streets to enjoy watching yellowish sunlight which my “boss” praises with full exclaimation: “Oh, how beautiful is the yellow sunlight!”. He probably “stole” this exclaimation from a song or a poem. That guy can’t compose such “a holy statement”. Any way, his words are obviously true. Last sunlight at the end of day on verdant gum trees was alight with brilliant radiance in the sunset like a golden enamel. It is worth to praise. I bring the online quarrel to reality.
Will sensitive feeling become harden because of the whole day stay in “boxes” and online work? - I usually wonder myself. I seemingly have no habits of write a note or a greeting card. So being familiar with e.mail, e.card, I’m not sure how I feel if I suddenly receive a card one day (of course, it is not wedding invitation card). If I get a handwriten note, I will surely appreciate it as if an unbelievable and romantic gift of big surprise. But who will be the writer? I myself get used to modern facilities such as mobile phone (My god! I use fixed line less and less), e.mail, chat, ect in order to avoid using pen and paper. I am not used to sitting dumfounded in front of a blank paper, racking my brain to continue the note after finishing the letter head date-month-year and dear X.
Such a funny idea to wish life without Internet! It sounds like the desire for secluding oneself from this digital life. It is undeniable that one person sometimes wants to seclude himself from bustling on-going life. But imagine! If that wish became true, Internet would disappeared globally. Oh! Bank system all over the world would fall into disturbance, e-business would became meaningless. Information technicians would tear their hair. Online meetings would stop in tense environment. Not knowing hot news and events means no communication to outside world. You can’t imagine where you are and who you are.
If there were no Internet now, the world would certainly fall into actual crisis. No one seems to have another option. Internet still exist as an evident truth whatever you like or not in spite of dislike of human beings. No one can insist to deny it. Wherever you are, even in the most remote area, you always are under www’s influence. It won’t let you free. However, if there were only Internet, life would be a big loss. There are still many things that we can’t feel with monitor and keyboard. No search tool can’t find them. Which website has silky yellowish sunlight? Which website has sofly but raucous laugh of the guy?
Let’s take time if you are often so busy or if you always want to push up speed of your PC. If your steps are always in hurry, if you are too eager to check email, if you are running/racing/catching up with the world, be slower, please! Just a litle slowliness to feel changes of the life when you live slowlier.
If you unfortunately have quarrel with somebody or conflict with yourself, let’s walk slowly but quickly be…online to reconcile with that person. One day without Internet, one day without communicative world is really such a long day.
It is very cold this afternoon although golden sunlight is still brilliant. I wonder if my guy remembers taking a jumper with him when he leaves public Internet service. Wait for me a few minute! I have just started the PC again. My mobile phone is available now. Please send me a piece of message! Please!
