Viettel launches trial Wimax services

The military-run Viet Nam Military Telecom Corp. (Viettel) launched its trial Wimax broadband Internet technology services for fixed, portable and mobile equipment in Ha Noi on Dec. 11.

The corporation plans to officially start providing its Wimax services in early 2007.

By launching these services, Viettel becomes the fourth Wimax service provider in Viet Nam, apart from Viet Nam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), Viet Nam Television Technology Corp. (VTC) and the Corporation for Financing and Promoting Technology (FPT).
