Vietnamese coffee biggie Trung Nguyen and its Trading and Service Joint Stock Co., or G7 are undertaking necessary preparations to list in Singapore in the next couples of years.

Dang Le Nguyen Vu, general director of Trung Nguyen Coffee Company confirmed the information, adding a Singaporean business mission, including international fund managers, were studying leading Vietnamese businesses that planned to list overseas.

The group was on a visit to the Ho Chi Minh City from December 12 -19 following consultation from Vietnam Global Gateway (VGG) – a joint venture between G7 and Singapore-based TMW Holdings Pte Ltd.

It also worked with the HCMC-based Young Enterprise Club on the 7-day visit to map out an action plan on supporting Vietnamese firms to sharpen their competitive edge and seek international investment sources.

VGG was founded in October of 2006, with G7 holding a 60 percent stake, while TMW Ltd is a top provider of corporate business services in Singapore.

It has initiated Singapore-Vietnam Investment Fund, which seeks to channel some of the investment inflows from Singapore into Vietnam-based projects.

Global groups have injected annually billions of dollars into Singapore thanks to advantages like good infrastructure, a highly developed financial market, and professional management.

The JV is to also advise Vietnamese enterprises seeking to list on the Singapore stock exchange.

VGG would cooperate with Singapore’s leading universities to provide international-standard CEO training designed to suit Vietnamese needs.

The top priority under the program would be given to Vietnamese entrepreneurs.
