Vietnam Airlines to be equitised

National carrier Viet Nam Airlines will be equitised by next year according to a Prime Minister's decision which also carries a list of big State-owned enterprises to go public between 2007-2010.

In accordance with decision 1729/QD-Ttg , of the 53 earmarked corporations and major economic groups, 15 will become share-holding firms this year, says English-language Viet Nam News..

Viet Nam Airlines and the Viet Nam Textile and Apparel Group will be equitised next year, followed by the Paper Corporation, Steel Corporation, and Northern Foodstuff Corporation in 2009. The Viet Nam Cement Corporation and Chemical Corporation will be denationalised in 2010.

Viet Nam Airlines has a registered capital of 5.74 trillion VND (358.8 million USD) and runs 18 other units, three affiliates, nine joint-stock concerns, and four joint ventures.
