PM Dung to hold on-line dialogue with citizens

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung is scheduled to hold an on-line dialogue with the public through the websites of the Government and the Communist Party of Viet Nam as well as the electronic newspaper VietnamNet on Feb. 9.

The Viet Nam Television will broadcast the potential two-hour dialogue later in the evening, Editor-in-chief Pham Viet Dung of the Government website told reporters on Jan. 18.

He said the dialogue will focus on nine burning issues, including socio-economic assessments and the significance to viet Nam of major events in 2006.

Other possible public concerns are measures to sustain fast socio-economic development in 2007 and the future, cracking down on corruption and wastefulness; land and housing policies and their enforcing; administrative reforms, medical, educational and cultural development, scientific and technological research, natural disasters and epidemics control; and living conditions, employment and social policies.
