Deputy PM Khiem leaves for visit to China

Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem

Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem left Ha Noi on Mar. 24 for a six-day official visit to China at the invitation of Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Li Zhaoxing.

This is Khiem's first visit to China as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The visit aims to further comprehensive relations between the two countries.

Also on the agenda are the realisation of Viet Nam-China agreements signed during high-level visits and meetings made in 2006 as well as preparation for high-ranking visits in 2007.

Measures to enact accords on economy and trade and boost cooperation between border provinces will also be discussed.

Deputy PM Khiem will also visit Macau on Mar. 28 as guest of the Chief Executive of the Macau Special Administrative Region, Ho Hau Wah.
