The 11th and also last session of the 11th National Assembly concluded in Hanoi on April 2 with the participation of a visiting delegation from the Czech Chamber of Deputies' Budget Committee.
Speaking at the closing session, NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed that the 11th National Assembly has made important contribution to the country's achievements.
The 11th tenure of the National Assembly made impressive progress in the law making activities with increased quality and number of approved laws, he said. The 11th National Assembly provided effective and fruitful supreme supervision of State activities, decided issues of national significance. Voters' confidence in the National Assembly, NA deputies and State agencies have thus grown.
In the morning, the NA also passed the Law on amendments and supplements to a number of articles of the Law on National Assembly Organisation, paving the way for the 12th National Assembly to continue with organisational renewal, improving its activities' quality and effectiveness; and the Law on amendments and supplements to article 73 of the Labour Code to give working people one more national holiday on the death anniversary of King Hung (the 10th day of the third lunar month).
The NA also approved a resolution on construction of the NA Building, agreed to stop four projects which are parts of the Ba Ria-Vung Tau Gas-Electricity-Nitrogenous Fertiliser Complex as proposed by the Government in its report presented at the beginning of this session.
