Vietnam tourism to be advertised on CNN from October

The image of Vietnam tourism will be seen worldwide on the CNN (the Cable News Network) from next month at “golden time.”

An official from the tourism administration said that the CNN’s film-makers are expected to arrive in Vietnam in mid-September and they will complete a video clip about the image of Vietnam tourism by the end of the month.

The move came after Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung early this month authorised the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to advertise Vietnamese tourism on CNN.

The amount of money for the advertisement is nearly VND 4.7 billion (over US $290,000) from the State budget.

The tourism official said the video clip would last for 30 seconds and be broadcast on CNN at “golden time” twice a day for 13 consecutive weeks.

The video clip is expected to feature Ha Long Bay, a World Natural Wonder of Vietnam, with an impressive sight and narration, he added.
