Government focuses on five major tasks

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has signed a resolution on the government’s action programme on five major groups of tasks for socio-economic development in the 2007-2011 period.

Under the programme, the government will focus on the synchronous development and effective management of real estate, capital, services, labour and scientific and technological markets.

The government will fully tap all resources and carry out measures and policies to ensure the sustainability, raise the competitiveness of the national economic growth and build an independent and self-reliant economy.

In addition, under the Government’s guidance, most State-owned companies will be equitised into a one-member limited liability or joint stock companies by the end of 2009.

The other objective will be the strong educational, scientific and technological development, the improvement of the quality of human resources and people’s health, job generation and poverty reduction as well as environmental protection.

Administrative reform will be accelerated while the efficiency of State apparatus and anti-corruption activities will be improved.

Focuses will also be paid to national defence and political and social security.
