Website on territorial borders opens
14:19', 4/12/ 2009 (GMT+7)

The National Border Committee (NBC) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on December 3 debuted a website on Vietnam’s territorial borders at http://biengioilanhtho.gov.vn.

According to the NBC, this is Vietnam’s official information channel for the views of the Vietnamese Party and State, their guidelines and policies, as well as other information and documentation on territorial border work. The purpose of the site is to improve public awareness of territorial borders, and strengthen friendship and cooperation with neighbouring countries.

The website, built and operated by the NBC, also aims to counter incorrect information and arguments on issues pertaining to Vietnam’s territorial borders.

The website comprises 10 main categories of information, including news, related events, legal documents, historical documents, maps, international law, a photo library, useful information and a column for researchers.
