National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong has urged law-making bodies, including the compilation board and the examination agency, to quickly refine those bills that have been nearly completed for submission to the legislative body at its sixth session.

The top legislator made the request at the closing session of the NA Standing Committee’s 22 nd meeting in Hanoi on August 15.

Regarding the supervision work, NA Chairman Trong said a NA Standing Committee report on the issue should be comprehensive and persuasive to be tabled to the NA’s sixth session.

The NA Chairman appreciated the quality of the question-answer session at this meeting and ordered concerned agencies to continue to keep an eye on follow-ups of the questioned issues.

Prior to the closing session, members of the NA Standing Committee discussed and gave opinions on a bill on amendment and supplement to some articles of the Education Law.

They pointed to a lack of documents guiding the enforcement of the law as a reason behind limitations facing the education sector in the recent time.

The legislators said the law should be revised to help provide orientations for stronger reforms in the field as well as changes in national policy on education.
