Party central committee convenes 13th meeting
13:48', 8/10/ 2010 (GMT+7)

The 13th meeting of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC), in its 10th tenure, will discuss preliminary personnel changes within the CPVCC in the 11th term.

While opening the event in Hanoi on October 7, Party General Secretary Nong Duc Manh said that the meeting will discuss the outcomes of socio-economic tasks and plans, and the State budget in 2010.

Socio-economic plans and the State budget for 2011 as well as the way forward during the 2011-2015 period will be also tabled for discussion during the session, he said.

The delegates will hear report summarising a pilot project to abolish people’s councils at district and communal levels and put forward proposals for the near future, the Party leader added.

With their deepest sympathy, the CPVCC sent their condolences to people in the central region affected by the recent floods and asked local authorities and leaders of ministries and agencies to adopt measures to help them soon resume normal lives.

Having emphasised the importance of the meeting, the Party chief asked the delegates to better use their knowledge, experience and sense of responsibility to discuss and make decisions on the current issues.

The 13th meeting is scheduled to last until October 15.
