Construction of Asia’s largest instant coffee plant underway

Work on Asia’s largest instant coffee processing plant, a wholly Indian investment, started on September 3 in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak.

Covering an area of 24 hectares, the 18 million USD plant will have an output of 10,000 tonnes of products per year.

Once operating in July, 2011, its annual turnover from domestic consumption and export is expected to reach 27 million USD and the figure is expected to increase to 40.5 million USD by 2014.

At present, Dak Lak province has over 184,500 hectares of coffee with an annual output between 380,000 and more than 400,000 tonnes.
