Preparations for the elections of the 13th National Assembly (NA) and People's Council at all levels for the 2011-16 term are being carried out in accordance with the law, Secretary General of the Election Council Pham Minh Tuyen said.

Tuyen, who is also Head of the NA Standing Committee’s Delegates Board, made the statement at the 39th session of the NA Standing Committee in Hanoi on April 25.
Under the Election Council and relevant central agencies’ close guidance, nationwide preparations are due to be completed within the deadline for the election, he said.
Party General Secretary and NA Chairman Nguyen Phu Trong emphasised the need to mobilise the entire political system and people to be involved in the preparation and continue to popularise the elections with focus on scale, content and methods of the dissemination work.
Relevant agencies should guide cadres who are directly involved in the election work and ensure social security and order for the elections and supervision work, he said./.
