The victim, a 68 year-old man in Tho Son commune, Anh Son mountainous district, in Nghe An, was reported to get an electric shock generated by electric current leak from electric poles which were pulled down during the storm.

Storm Nock-ten, the third of its kind hit Vietnam , triggered torrential rains in mountainous and coastal districts of both provinces.

On its moving course, the storm caused strong wind, heavy rains and rough sea along the northern and northern central coastline and also affected Hai Phong port city, where the storm was not forecast to visit.

Earlier on the day, the Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Control and the National Committee on Search and Rescue set up special missions to inspect and speed up storm response in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces.

According to the Central Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Control, evacuation of residents in dangerous areas in localities forecast to be hit by storm Nock-ten has been basically completed by July 30 afternoon.

The Central Hydrometeorology Centre said tropical storm Nock-ten or No.3 is forecast to move in westerly direction at a speed of 20km per hour and dissipate to become a tropical depression./.
