An Lao District:
6 hectares of safe vegetables in plant

Binh Dinh Foodstuff Export Co., Ltd. has just co-operated with An Lao District People’s Committee to implement a model of planting 6 hectares of safe vegetables in 2006-2007 winter-spring crop at An Hoa and An Tan Communes. This plantation of nutricious vegetables will provide material for food processing factory of the company to export canned vegetables. The company has transfered cultivation techniques of vegatables such pod corn, sweet corne and cucumber to local farmer households. These vegetables can be grown all year round on purposely irrigated soil.

The company pledges to support 100% seeds and fertilizer for farmers of the 6-hectare pilot plantation model and buys the output at reasonable prices when the produce is in harvest. Those farmers who register to produce safe vegatable but not in the model will be provided 60% seeds and 40% fertilizer by the company.
