Brine shrimps appear in mass at Thi Nai Lagoon
17:23', 15/12/ 2006 (GMT+7)

From early December 2006, brine shrimps have appeared abundantly at Thi Nai Lagoon. Tens of local residents at Phuoc Thang, Phuoc Hoa, Phuoc Son and Phuoc Thuan Communes (Tuy Phuoc District) use rakes and nets to catch hundreds of shrimp kilogrammes everyday. Consequently, price of the brine shrimps decreases fastly from VND60.000/kg to VND30.000/kg. It is worrisome that small brine shrimps are less and less and aquacultural source becomes quickly exhauted because of  bad practice of using electricity shock and small mesh nets in shrimping.
