Binh Dinh Province Industry expects to grow by 25.8% in 2007

Thanks to investment assistance, promotion and attraction policies of BinhDinhProvince as well as endeavour of provincial enterprises, Binh Dinh Province Industry overcomed difficulties and stably developed in 2006. Its industrial production value expects to raise up 25.8% in 2007.

2006 Review

Up to now, 3 more enterprises in Phu Tai and Long My Industrial Zones have been under operation, raising the number of on-going enterprises there to 83. Nearly 22,400 workers have been employed, an increase of 2,500 workers compared with the end of 2005. In addition, 6 industrial sites in several districts were put into operation, making total number of provincial on-going industrial sites to 10. Many enterprises intensively invested in workshop expansion, upgrading of equipment and technology to strengthen their competitive competence in the market.

In 2006, Industrial Promotion Centre (under Binh Dinh Industry Department) deducted over VND 700 million (43,750 USD) from National and Local capital source for implementation of many industrial promotion programmes, development of traditional trade villages. The programmes aimed to add more industrial production value and to create more jobs for rural labourers. Some products by Binh Dinh traditional trade villages such as wooden fine arts (made in Nhon Hau Commune, An Nhon District), nacred products (made in Nhon Hung Commune, An Nhon District), coconut fiber matting (made in Tam Quan Commune, Hoai Nhon District) etc. have sold in domestic and international markets.

Binh Dinh Industry makes out its long-term development strategy which concentrates to boost processing industry and guides enterprises to manufacture of high-tech refined products. Particularly in 2007, Binh Dinh Industry will hasten infrastructure synchronisation in the industrial zones and sites, creating favourable conditions for investment. In addition, it will enhance preferential and incentive investment policies as well as industry promotion policies in order to assist enterprises, particularly small and medium sized businesses, to develop their production. It will also set up information sharing channels to provide updated technology and market trend for the enterprises. Exported wood and forest product procesing industry is going to unite its enterprises with aim to take the most advantage of the enterprises’ capacities for manufacture of high-profit but low-raw-material-consuming interior products. Seafood processing industry will push up its raw material purchase,  processing of high-quality products for export.  Sai Gon - Quy Nhon Beer Co. Ltd. will promptly build its factory.

Many industrial projects such as Exported Fruit and Vegetables Processing Project will upgrade its equipments and facilites of frozen, canned and processed fruit and vegetables production lines. Tapioca Starch Processing Project will improve its waste water treatment system to meet standard, promoting market location, researching on re-producing post-starch by-products to cut down costs and increase income. The Sai Gon – Quy Nhon Beer Co. Ltd.  will manufacture beer cans in QuyNhonCity for its  333 trade name canned beer and its cannedsoft drink.

In 2007, Binh Dinh Province Industry targets to attain VND 4,930 billion (308,125,000 USD) industrial production value, increasing 25.8% in comparison with 2006; Industrial export turn-overwill achieve VND 240 million (15,000 USD), an increase of 14% compared with the last year.
