Chairman of Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee has just issuedDecision No. 3291/QÐ-CTUBND to approve the 1/2000 detail plan of Nhon Hoi Port Complex. Total investment of the plan is more than VND 2,800 billion ( USD 175 million).
According the approved plan, Nhon Hoi Port Complex locates in administrative border line of Nhon Hoi Commune and spreads over 257.91 ha. It includes a non-import-and-export-tax port and a multi-functional import-export-tax port (not take the 118.3-ha water in front of the dock into account), a shipbuilding yard and an anchorage. The 45.56-ha non-tax port with its 600m in length is set for for 30,000-DWT- container load and for entrance and exit of ships carrying uncontainerized goods. Volume of goods transported to the non-tax port will be expectedly 3 million tons/year. The 119.10-ha tax port has 2,117 m in length including 1,180 m for 20,000-30,000-DWT ships and 937m for 10,000-30,000-DWT ships carrying uncontainerized goods. It expects to clear 9-9.5 tons of goods per year.
Up to 2010, two 480-m-long docks will be built in the first phase. One dock is for containerized goods and the other is for uncontainerized goods. 30,000-DWT ships will anchor in the two docks. Yearly capacity of goods transported to the two docks will be 1.5-2 tons. The shipbuilding yard covers an area of 93.35 square hectares and has 1,285-m water edge. It is designed for 100,000-DWT ships. The yard also has a dock for 30,000-DWT ships to carry shipbuiling material in. A network of sanitary and infrastructure facilities such as inner roads, depots, water supply pipes, sewage pipes, electricity wires for Nhon Hoi Port Complex will be established at the same time.
