Binh Dinh Province Investment Promotion Centre reported that BinhDinhProvince disbursed USD1.14 million worth of NGO aid in 2006. This is the first time the disbursement of such capital source hovered over USD1 million. NGOs’ projects in 2006 mainly focused on healthcare (USD 573,000), education and training (USD 167,000), assistance to the poor, the disabled and local communities (USD 338,000), agriculture and aquiculture (USD 61.000).

Binh Dinh Province Union of Friendship Organizations evaluated that the aid projects into BinhDinhProvince in 2006 were not numerous. Moreover, they were likely to be at small-size and short-term. This year, the province expects to get some large-scale feasible projects such as “Community-based Project of Rehabilitation (for the disabled)”, “Project of anti-domestic violence on women”, “ADDA project on environment improvement and rural development”, “ Project of operation assistance for inborn heart defect children”,etc.
