Preparations to kick off Belgium-sponsored projects
16:21', 3/10/ 2007 (GMT+7)

Permanent Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Province People's Committee, Nguyen Van Thien, on October 2 received the delegation of the Kingdom of Belgium, led by Mr. Guido Schueremans, who is in charge of the Asian region. Representatives of functional bodies attended the reception.

At the reception, two sides discussed issues relating to preparations for the conduction of Belgium-sponsored projects in Binh Dinh.

Under the cooperation program between Vietnam and the Kingdom of Belgium, Belgium donated 5 million EURO to 6 projects in Binh Dinh, relating to solid waste treatment in Hoai Nhon, Phu My, Tay Son, and An Nhon Districts; the upgrade of Hoc Mon lake in My Chau Commune (Phu My District) for water supply; and clean water supply in Phu Cat District's South-East area and Tuy Phuoc District's East area.

Permanent Vice Chairman Thien thanked for the aid for projects on the poverty-alleviation and the improvement of the people's living standard in rural areas. He also asked the delegation to complete all formalities and promised that Binh Dinh would create the most favorable conditions for projects, providing 10 percents of the corresponding capital.

Two sides should closely cooperate to shorten the progress of formalities completion to soon conduct projects, Guido Schueremans said. After completing all formalities, the conduction of projects needed a close investigation for their sustainable quality, he added.
