Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Province People's Committee, Nguyen Van Thien, on October 11 at the head office of provincial People's Committee received Belgian Deputy Ambassador.

At the reception, two Belgium-sponsored projects conducted in Phu My District were discussed.

The project on increasing agricultural productivity through the irrigational work improvement has been conducted since July 2006. It aims at focusing on the agricultural production, poverty alleviation, and the increase of people's income in My Loc and My Hiep Communes.

Under the project, the irrigational work at Dai Son and Cay Sung water reservoirs will be upgraded. Also, the management capacity and technical knowledge of agriculture will be improved.

The project on improving living standards in Phu My town has been carried out since late March, 2007. Its aim is to provide the clean water for over 3,000 households in Phu My town and residential areas in Binh Tri Hamlet, My Quang Commune, Phu My District.

So far, some works of two projects have been completed in time except for several works. Vice Chairman Thien expressed the hope that Belgian embassy would closely cooperate with Binh Dinh to effectively carry out projects. He also steered Phu My District People's Committee to solve difficulties to speed up the progress of projects.
