Binh Dinh Province: Telephone density reaches 7.01 lines/100 inhabitants

In 2006, Binh Dinh Province Post Office invested over VND 50 billion (USD 3,125 million) to upgrade and install some switchboards. The investment aimed to satisfy demand of telephone subscriber expansion, to ensure smooth operation of provincial communication network and to serve political, economic and social development targets of Binh Dinh Province. At present, the whole network has 59 switching stations and 19 subscriber centre equipment stations serving for 129,781 subscribers. Last year, Binh Dinh Post Office developed 19,477 new subscribers, increasing the total number of network subscribers over110,641, realizing the teledensity of 7.01 lines/100 inhabitants (compared with 6.87 lines/100 inhabitants in 2005).

In 2007, Binh Dinh Post Office will expectedly get more 23,600 new telephone subscribers, increasing the total subscribers up to 137,214 with density of 8.4 lines/100 inhabitants. The nationwide average teledensity now is 21 lines/100 inhabitants.
