On 23rd March, Belgium Ambassador in Vietnam Phillipe Jottard and Standing Vice-chairman of Binh Dinh Province Nguyen Van Thien signed an agreement on implementation of 2.1-million-Euro project “To increase agricultural productivity through improvement of irrigation system at Phu My District”.
Kingdom of Belgium government funds 1 million Euro while Vietnamese government covers the rest of the investment. The project will be put under operation from 2007 to 2010. It targets to improve irrigational infrastructure of Dai Son Water Reservoir (My Hiep Commune) and Cay Sung Water Reservoir (My Loc Commune), strengthening management capacity of local officials and providing local target people with knowledge about irrigation.
