Binh Dinh sets up GIS map for tourism

Dratf and budget estimate of research on “Setting up GIS map for Binh Dinh Province’s tourism” by MSc. Thai Hoang Uan from Centre of Information Technology Development Assistance has just approved by Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee.

The research aims firstly to collect and process information about Binh Dinh Province’s trade villages, tourist spots and beauties of nature, capable tourist agencies and services; secondly to build up a GIS-based data resource system in English and Vietnamese for advertising and promotion of Binh Dinh tourism. The latter includes subsystem of conten management, subsystem of GIS layers, subsystem of locating the shortest way to the tourist spots or services, subsystem of searching software on PCs to access tourist news and services, subsystem of training for information technicians who are able to take over the system and operate it well after its accomplishment.

The research started to be put under operation in February and is expected to finish in December 2007. Its total investment is 436 million VND (27.500 USD).
