On April 11, 2007, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung signed the Decree No. 66/2007/NĐ-CP on adjustment of town administrative border, establishment of communes and towns subordinated to Hoai An and An Lao districts of Binh Dinh province.
According to this Decree, at Hoai An district, An Hao Tay commune will be established by adjusting 2,992.74 hectares of natural area and 4,464 members of An Hao commune; An Hao Dong commune will be established on 3,307.26 hectares of natural area and 8,118 members left of An Hao commune. At An Lao district, An Lao town (district town) will be established on a natural area 1,640.20 hectares and 5,174 individuals by adjusting 153.25 hectares of natural area and 2,316 members of An Trung commune, 472.12 hectares of natural area and 2,530 members of An Tan commune with a part of natural area and 328 members of An Hung commune.
